Link Building
What is the point where Google and other top search engines will punish you for building links to fast? I have been wondering about this for a long time. The other day I got a little clarification on the subject. About two months ago I built link through networking with other websites and link baiting at a very fast pace. I saw no negative impact in search engine rankings because of my efforts until recently I did a few directory submissions. I was also very careful to vary anchor text and only did about 30 submissions in a day. A week later I lost 20 positions in Google and MSN! I guess this is because submitting directories is something you have control over. I am hoping this will not affect my link profile but it was worth the knowledge gained.
